After his father passed, Paul Calvo ’58 took up the helm of Calvo Enterprises, and under his leadership, the company’s insurance and ventures in beverage distribution, real estate, and more flourished. Beyond business, Paul served three terms as a senator and as governor of Guam from 1979 to 1983. His passion for public service and his civic leadership helped shape the island’s future. Paul died on Oct. 16, 2024, and is survived by daughters Dolores Calvo Garces ’79 and Katherine Calvo ’81, granddaughters Rosae Calvo ’12 and Brittany Rose Calvo ’14, grandson Eduardo Calvo ’14, nephew Eduardo Calvo JD ’81, and cousins Ronald Schnabel ’80, Roy Schnabel ’87, Donald Calvo ’88, Catherine Schnabel ’89, Danielle Schnabel ’07, and Nicholas Schnabel ’18.
