2006

Patrick Semansky ’06, a professional photographer who has covered events ranging from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas, has been hired by The Associated Press as a staff photographer in the Baltimore bureau. Semansky started his career as a freelance photographer with the AP in New Orleans in 2006. He later was hired as a temporary AP staffer based in that city. He was an integral member of a team of AP journalists covering the 2010 Gulf oil spill. "Patrick will help the AP bolster its already-strong photo report for members in the region," said John Pain, the AP’s Mid-Atlantic chief of bureau. "He will provide the compelling coverage of news and sports that our members find essential and can rely on."
