After college graduation, Patricia Bikai ’65 embarked on a life defined by curiosity, scholarship, and adventure. From earning advanced degrees in biblical studies to uncovering ancient artifacts in Lebanon, Cyprus, Egypt, and Jordan, she poured her heart into archaeology. While on an excavation in Lebanon, Patricia met Pierre and they were married in a Crusader church she helped excavate. Back home near Berkeley, Patricia became involved in local politics and eventually became chair of the planning commission. Her career was crowned with international recognition, including the Hussein Medal for Distinguished Service from King Abdullah al-Hussein of Jordan. Patricia died on Aug. 4, 2025, and is survived by family, including sister Barbara Peterson ’71.
