Patricia “Pat” A. Tooker M.A. ’81 was the only child of Napier and Vivian Tooker and lived her whole life in California. She graduated from San Jose State and began her education career as a speech therapist for the Bakersfield City School District at McKinley School. She later worked as a therapist in Wasco. Pat returned to San Jose State and earned a graduate degree. She taught many years in the Berryessa School District (San Jose) and was honored as Teacher of the Year. Pat was a strong, independent woman who loved traveling, gardening, stitchery, and theatre. She was a member of American Speech and Hearing Association and the Congregational Church of Soquel. Pat made lifelong friends, stayed in touch, and thought of them as family. She passed away on March 1, 2018, in Santa Cruz after a brief illness.
