Parmly Martin ’50 died on Sept. 2, 2009 at Twin Oaks after a lengthy illness. He was 83 years old. He was born on July 23, 1926 to Cecil and Frances Martin. In 1937, the family moved to Burlingame, Calif., where he grew up. He entered the Coast Guard during World War II and the Army during the Korean conflict. He re¬turned to Santa Clara University and earned a business degree and teaching credentials. He was proud of his part in organizing the Sea Scouts San Francisco Bay Chapter for disadvantaged boys, whom he taught for five years. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maxine; daughters Barbara, Judy, and Marian; sons Ted and Rob; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
