Pamela Atwell ’67 found success in academia and endeavored to support others’ pursuits of knowledge as a teacher in Taiwan, Japan, and England. An honors graduate of Santa Clara, she later earned master’s and Ph.D. in Asian politics from the University of Hawaii and London University, respectively. Her doctoral dissertation and other writings on British colonial rule in China were published by Oxford University Press. After returning to the U.S., Pam continued to teach, participate in community and church programs, and helped organize study tours to Japan, Hong Kong, and China. She died Sep. 1, 2023.
