The seventh of eight sons born in Charenton, Louisiana, Miller Pierre MBA ’74 had a passion for learning, which took him to Texas Southern University in Houston, where he earned a bachelor of science in mathematics. He moved his family to Northern California for an engineering job at Lockheed. After a few years, Miller worked as a computer engineer at Ford Aerospace, a defense division of the Ford Motor Company. One of the highlights of his career was doing programming for the Space Shuttle program. Miller desired more education and earned his MBA at Santa Clara University. Miller was a deacon, Bible study teacher, and Sunday school superintendent at St. John Baptist Church in East Palo Alto. An excellent family man, he enjoyed cheering on his sons and watching sports with them, especially football. He died March 21, 2020.
