Micki O’Brien ’92, CEO and co-founder of Aligned Education, gave a TEDx Talk at Bellevue College. Titled “Tapping Your Superpowers,” the presentation referenced the impact neurotypical and neorodivergent concepts have on education, and how the larger culture tends to focus on getting kids to fit in a “normal box.” With the TEDx mission of spreading worthy ideas in mind, O’Brien argues that we can create a “new normal” that celebrates the uniqueness of each person—one with more authenticity and love.
