2011

Michael Ryan ’11 writes, "I started working for Tesla Motors in 2011 while finishing up my senior design project. Working up from a Product Specialist on the sales floor to a Store Manager in White Plains, it has been great having a mechanical engineering background from SCU. I encourage any and all Broncos globally to step foot into a Model S and feel the rush of electric propulsion. If you are in the New York area, please reach out to me. I would be happy to show you what electric vehicles are all about.

In Engineering 101 back in 2007, we were told to use the knowledge we obtained on campus for the good of mankind. I have now spoken and emailed over 50,000 people globally and seen owners grin at the sight of their new vehicles which have no tail-pipe. I’m excited to say that Tesla is now working on our second full production vehicle, a crossover called the Model X. Tesla vehicles, including the award winning Model S, have driven over 750 millions miles on electricity. The age of combustion for individual transportation will be coming to a close soon. With many more Broncos now at Tesla Motors, our alumni are on the front lines making a huge difference in the world of transportation.

I hope all is well in Sunny California. I opted to jump back to the temperate climate of the Northeast, but my attitude towards work, life and my fellow human being is always as positive and warm as the culture where I got my degree from in Santa Clara, California. Bronco for life!"
