Michael Pina J.D. ’91 was born to Benita (Castro) and Domingo Pina in Bakersfield California, the third of four children. He grew up in a family that values hard work and education. He attended UCSB and Santa Clara, where he obtained a degree in law. Michael returned to Bakersfield after he suffered a stroke in March 2017. He was well cared for by his mom, siblings, and extended family. Every day he worked at getting better so he could get back to his children (Alec, Jack, Lucas, and Sophia) in Santa Barbara. God had other plans. Michael unexpectedly passed during the night at the home of his brother (Louis and Geneva) on Nov. 20, 2018.
