Michael Pereira ’73, retired NFL vice president of officiating, joins Fox Sports as a multi-platform NFL rules analyst. Before his retirement, Pereira did weekly reviews of controversial officiating calls for the NFL Network. It was one area where the NFL Network outshined the league’s other broadcast partners. Pereira will be situated in a control room each Sunday at the Fox Network Center in Los Angeles, giving him visual access to all games played. If circumstances warrant a rules interpretation or explanation, he’ll be available to interact with studio analysts and game crews from stadiums around the country, either on- or off-camera. A team of Los Angeles-area football referees, each assigned to a different game, will be assisting Pereira.
