It was love at first sight when Debbie Virga and Michael G. Virga ’78 J.D. ’81 met. Although they attended the same high school, it wasn’t until they were in college until they started their 40-year-journey together. In 1994, Michael was elevated to the Sacramento County Superior Court, filling his father’s seat. He then served as the Presiding Judge of the Sacramento Courthouse from 2004 to 2005. Michael served on the bench for 23 years until he retired in 2016. Michael died in his home in Sacramento on June 20, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father Michael James Virga ’53. He is survived by his large family including daughter Natalie Panagotacos ’08.
