Sunnyvale School District has appointed Michael Gallagher ’87, a longtime educator and administrator within the district, as its new superintendent. The Board of Education made the announcement on April 9, 2020 during a special board meeting. He also serves as board president of Sunnyvale Community Services and is president-elect of Sunnyvale Rotary. Gallagher and his husband, Jason Chan, are both life-long residents of the South Bay, are avid San José Earthquakes fans, and are deeply committed to empowering the area’s youth.
