Maureen (Daley) Rooney ’73 was born to Dorothy and Harold Daley on Aug. 28, 1951. She was raised in the San Fernando Valley with siblings Brian, Carol, and Nora and graduated from Louisville High School. She attended SCU, where she majored in English and met her husband of 38 years, Kevin Rooney ’72. They married in June 1980 in Los Gatos before moving to Southern California, where they raised their three daughters, Caitlin, Brynn, and Kara. Maureen was a proud grandmother of Cade and Tate and a supportive member of the Notre Dame High School community, particularly of her husband’s Notre Dame Knights football team. She passed away on Oct. 30, 2018, after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Maureen will be forever remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
