Trailblazer Mary Stewart ’69 made history as the first female councilwoman and mayor of Rohnert Park, Calif. in the 1970s and ’80s. She also served as executive director of the Chamber of Commerce and pursued a variety of business ventures, selling real estate, and farming. She particularly liked boarding and taking care of sick animals. Together with her husband, Edward Stewart ’66, they raised three children in Rohnert Park, where they created a home full of love and adventure. Mary died on Oct. 22, 2024.
