Mary Mabey M.A. ’93, Jan. 21, 2014. A wide circle of family and friends mourn the passing of Mary Ellen Mabey after a long illness and courageous battle against lung disease.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Charles Dawson Mabey; son, Mark Unciano; brother, Blake Wilson; sister, Elizabeth Shatto; cousins, Rosemary DeMarco, Don Ziegler, and Richard Ziegler; and several nieces and nephews. Mary, the youngest of three children of Blake Sr and Marion Wilson, was born on October 9, 1942 in Los Angeles and grew up in Santa Rosa. Mary led an active and vibrant life with a passion for art and education. She graduated with a master’s degree from Santa Clara University. Mary will be remembered as a good friend, avid reader, and ardent lover of art, nature, and traveling; her special joy, water color painting. Mary was known to be extremely gregarious, vivacious, and generous. She will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.
