1963
As the eldest of four daughters to a career naval officer, Mary Griffin ’63 filled her early years with travel and discovery. At Santa Clara, she found her voice in both the classroom and on stage, a passion she carried into her career as a dedicated teacher in Washington, D.C. After earning her master’s degree at George Washington University, she embraced motherhood and raised two children with her former husband. Mary had a special way of making people feel at home through her laughter, her legendary baking, her deep love for animals, or her Catholic faith. Mary died on July 3, 2025.
