The service, faith, and devotion of Margaret Webb will be remembered by all who knew her. Marge’s early adult years were spent as a Dominican Sister of Kenosha, Wisconsin. She would go on to serve as pastoral associate with her cousin, Reverend Francis Markey, and later moved into providing full time social services to senior residents in Santa Cruz and Visalia. Marge dedicated her last years to continuing Father Markey’s legacy and vision of seeing women raised to leadership positions in the Church. Marge directed that his sermons and other writings be archived at Santa Clara University. She also endowed scholarships for women studying for careers in the Church through SCU’s Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries. Marge was a good friend of the Adrian Dominican Sisters at Dominican Hospital and of the Holy Names Sisters at Villa Maria del Mar. Marge loved art and music, and she supported local artists and music ensembles. She was a gracious hostess who enjoyed bringing friends to her home for interesting conversations and good food. Marge died on June 16, 2022.
