Marc Serra ’00 has forged a career that blends his arts background with a passion for healthcare. After earning his dental degree from Columbia University, he joined the U.S. Army, where he completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery and a fellowship in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. As program director at Madigan Army Medical Center, he received the Excellence in Education Award for his mentorship. Recently promoted to colonel and appointed oral and maxillofacial surgical consultant to the Surgeon General, Marc now oversees surgical residents and staff across the Army. He credits his SCU education for instilling the creativity, discipline, and leadership that continue to shape his success in surgery and military service.
