The Society of Christian Ethics awarded Lisa Sowle Cahill ’70 its 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award for her work shaping the field of Christian ethics within the academy, church, and civil society over the past four decades. After graduating from Santa Clara, Cahill became a noted theology professor at Boston College. She is the author of 10 books, as well as hundreds of critical articles on topics such as sex and gender, bioethics, war and peacemaking, Catholic social teaching, and the history of Christian ethics, reimagining the way individuals should view Christianity.
