Linda Luella Hess M.A. ’81 worked as a copywriter in New York City before moving to New Mexico then California, where she accepted a writing position with the San Jose Mercury News. After earning a master’s in psychology and counseling at Santa Clara, she worked as a counselor and in medical records in Boston. Throughout her life, Linda enjoyed a love of writing, poetry, and travel, venturing as far north as Russia and as far south as Australia and New Zealand. Her favorite poet was Seamus Heaney, whom she had the opportunity to meet and take poetry classes from. Linda died on her 83rd birthday on July 9, 2020.
