Leslie L. Belanger ’51 was born in Reno, Nevada, on March 19, 1927, to A.E. and Pearl Belanger. He graduated from Pershing County High School in 1945 and was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea. He went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in 1947 and retired in 1984. He married Virginia Gandiaga in 1950. He later graduated from the California College of Mortuary Science in 1957 and then purchased the Eddy Mortuary in Lovelock, Nevada, in 1960, and renamed it the Belanger Funeral Home. He operated the funeral home until 1974. Leslie was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1557. He passed away on Nov. 21, 2017, at the age of 90, in Lovelock. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife in 2014. He is survived by his sons, Clyde (Sharon) Belanger of Milbridge, Maine; Brian (Mariann) Belanger of Winnemucca, Nevada; grandchildren Anya Huston, Brianna Monaco, Nicholas Belanger, and Trevor Belanger; great-grandchildren Mila Huston and Kaia Huston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
