Lauren Gardiner ’16 was presented with a Student Life Award in recognition of her contributions to the overall quality of life in the University community. She has served as a past co-chair and secretary of Igwebuike and has just finished her term as director of the Multicultural Center, where she helped to establish the Multicultural Center Scholarship, which will be awarded next year. One of her favorite memories was this spring’s MCCBeary’s award ceremony, which celebrated leaders and members of the MCC Staff and the various MCC clubs. She has studied abroad in El Salvador, is a Leavey Scholar, and was one of the leaders in the Unity 4 movement. She says that she has worked alongside some amazing people at Santa Clara and was honored to be with some of them on stage at the Senior Toast ceremony. Her words of advice: "Be patient with yourself and learn how to practice self-love." Lauren will be attending Columbia University for their postbaccalaureate premedical program.
