Lauren Baines ’08 has joined the de Saisset Museum as its assistant director. Baines arrives with experience from the nonprofit arts sector within Silicon Valley, working with institutions like Cardboard Box Theatre Project, Montalvo Arts Center—Lucas Artists Residency Programs, the Palo Alto Art Center, and ongoing work with genARTS Silicon Valley. She has held teaching assignments with the dance department at Mills College and the Department of Theatre and Dance at Santa Clara University. She is an avid supporter of the arts and has managed countless public programs associated with exhibitions, arts education programs, artist residencies, and contemporary art exhibitions—in addition to developing comprehensive marketing plans, websites, and social media platforms. She is also a professional choreographer and dancer who presents her work throughout the Bay Area under the company Lauren Baines Dance/Theatre.
