Larry Fennern M.S. ’90 was a brilliant engineer, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man of deep faith who dedicated his life to service, curiosity, and integrity. Larry married Janis Schon in 1972, and they built a life in San Jose. Over his career with General Electric Energy, Larry designed nuclear power plants, earned 34 patents, and received the prestigious Edison Award for technical achievement. In retirement, he mentored young innovators through the STEM program at Valley Christian High School and traveled the country with Janis in the trailer they nicknamed “Suite Suzie.” Larry died on June 21, 2025. He is survived by son Owen Fennern J.D. ’08.
