There is little doubt that the  city of Santa Clara was been shaped by former mayor Larry Fargher MBA ’65. During his years the city council, he voted to protect the old downtown from complete demolition. His cast a tie-breaking vote that allowed for both Intel and Great America to build in the city’s northside. After leaving the council, Fargher served on many communities committees, including that Citizens Advisory Committee. He was a steadfast supporter for local nonprofits. After losing his wife Camille to Alzheimer’s, Fargher’s fundraising over 15 years netted over $250,000 for research for Alzheimer’s Association. Fargher died June 14, 2022 and is survived by his family including granddaughter Danielle Fargher-Shaw ’02
