In the fall of 2008, Marc Trasolini ’12, MBA ’16 and Kortney (Wynn) Trasolini ’12 met in a Business 70 class. They were both first-year students. Kortney was a 5-foot-4 accounting major, and Marc was a 6-foot-9 finance major, who also happened to be at SCU on a full basketball scholarship. They became friends and started dating in March 2009. Marc had a tremendous career at Santa Clara, averaging 12.5 points per game and 6.1 rebounds during his four years on the team (he is also ranked No. 9 in career points scored.) After graduation, Marc stayed an extra year to study for his MBA and play one final season of eligibility in basketball, and Kortney received a job offer at Price-Waterhouse, passed her CPA exams, and started her career. Leaving Santa Clara in 2013, Marc signed on to play professional basketball in Europe, and their long-distance relationship began. He played three seasons in Italy before Kortney was able to join him in Europe. During the summer of 2015, Marc proposed to Kortney in the Mission Gardens at SCU, where they had enjoyed many picnics together. After spending a year living and playing basketball in France, the couple married in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Vancouver, British Columbia, which is Marc’s hometown. Their reception was held at the Marine Drive Golf and Country Club, with 185 guests attending. Marc and Kortney Trasolini currently live in Hokkaido, Japan, where Marc is playing pro basketball and Kortney has continued her accounting career as an independent accounting contractor.
