Keith Pedescleaux ’82 was born on Feb. 2, 1959, in Richmond to Kathryn Pedescleaux, a teacher’s aide at Peres Elementary School, and Percy Pedescleaux, an employee at JC Penny Department Store. Keith was an honor roll student and exceptional athlete at Richmond High School. Although as a wrestler he once held the national high school record for the fastest pin, Keith was most known for his prowess accolades on the football field. He was an all-league performer as well as MVP of the team.  After graduating from Richmond High School in 1977, he enrolled at Contra College in San Pablo. He again earned all-league honors and MVP of the team. He later received a football scholarship to SCU, once again gaining all-conference honors and MVP of the team. Keith graduated with a degree in economics. He later received a master’s degree in business administration in 1989. As impressive as Keith was as an athlete, he was even more impactful as a person. His infectious smile lit up any room he entered, and he was extraordinarily kind to all he encountered. His influence was felt by all who had the pleasure to know him. Keith was a dynamic leader who possessed strong people and organizational skills. He worked as a sales and business development executive with several Fortune 100 companies including Coca Cola, Chevron, and Shell before transitioning to life insurance and financial services. A devout Christian, Keith made it clear to anyone he spoke to that he was directed and protected by the Lord. Keith began his Christian life as a member of the family church, North Richmond Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor F.W. Watkins. After moving to Plano, Texas, he became an active member of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship under the leadership of Pastor Folley. Kieth passed away on Nov. 17, 2019. He is survived by his daughter, Kierra Pedescleaux, sisters Demetra Wilson and Linda Pedescleaux,  and brothers Alvin Pedescleaux and Kennard Pedescleaux Sr., as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
