Professional singer-actress and musician Kathy Holly ’65 will be appearing in Bejing at the CD Jazz Cafe on Saturday, April 3rd and at the East Shore Club on Sunday, April 4th. She’ll be promoting her new CD, Roundtrip. Following her Beijing appearance, she will be conducting a Masters workshop in Performing Arts at Hebei Normal University in Shijiazhuang City, the Capitol of Hebei Province. Holly is from San Francisco, California and was the first Cabaret singer in China to sing in Shanghai and Bejing in 1979 when she did cultural exchange performances, while performing on a Cruise Ship, the first one to travel the South China Sea all year. She sings in several languages and will perform songs from her new CD as well as Jazz Standards from the Great American Songbook. She will bring Certificates of Honor from Assemblywoman, Fiona Ma, San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin Newsom ’89, the Mayor of Shijiazhuang City, and Hebei University’s President.
