1993

Journalism was in the blood for Kathleen Wein M.A. ’93. She first cut her teeth at her family’s business, the Sellwood-Moreland Bee newspaper in Portland, Oregon. She shone as editor of her high school newspaper and yearbook. She became a TWA stewardess, sparking a lifelong love for travel. After moving to San Jose, Kathy juggled family life with work as a legal secretary, and earned two master’s degrees. Her career blossomed as a school psychologist, vice principal, and principal, and she later served as a special education administrator in Bremerton with her second husband, Jerry. Kathy’s heart was as vast as her intellect, finding joy in volunteering, boating, writing, and the outdoors. Kathy died on Sept. 1, 2024.
