If there was a place Joseph Ruiz ’71, JD ’74 loved, it was Willow Glen, the San Jose community where he was born and raised, and raised his own family with ex-wife and dear friend Carole Kiely ’71. While he regaled his family with tales of time studying abroad in Rome while attending SCU, it was at locally-famous local spots, including La Villa and John’s Xlent Foods, where Ruiz made his best memories with family and friends. Joe died in December 2020. His three daughters, including Karen M. Larson ’81, brother, caregiver, and grandchildren survive him.
