Joseph Alvarnas ’85 is a hematologist working at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center as the vice president of government affairs and senior medical director for employer strategy. He has also been promoted to clinical professor in the Department of Hematology/Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation. He recently completed two national research trials in the treatment of HIV/AIDS patients with hematopoietic cell transplantation.
