Inventor John Russell ’51 designed and patented a floss holder and other dental tools to aid his patients improve their dental health. He also enjoyed a 30-year career with the U.S. Navy before retiring as a captain. John was active in his local Catholic parish, serving as a lector for 38 years. He loved a good game of golf and gardening, raising all kinds of fruit and vegetables and earning the nickname “Farmer John.” John died May 18, 2024, and is survived by family, including daughter Mary O’Hara ’77 and son-in-law Michael O’Hara ’76.
