John O’Connor ’79 cherished and lived by his family’s legacy of hardwork and steadfast faith. He met the love of his life, Maureen Dennehy ’81, at Santa Clara University. After graduation, John worked for and later led Luppen & Hawley, Inc. for over 25 years. His time in the mechanical contracting industry left him with many lifelong friends and the lasting respect of peers throughout the state of California. John loved watching his three sons grow up, whether in the classroom, on the field, ski slopes, golf course, or just in the backyard. Later in life, John played golf several times a week with both family and friends. He died on July 1, 2022 and is survived by Maureen and extended family, including cousin Mary Desmond ’77.
