John Kelterer ’63 grew up in San Francisco’s Sunset District and moved south to dominate the basketball court at Santa Clara University. From serving in the Army as a captain, to teaching as an adjunct real estate professor in various universities for the past 25 years, John dabbled in many career fields. He created a successful real estate consulting and development firm in 1990, which was a driving force behind a number of major projects in Southern California such as the master-planned Rancho Santa Margarita community development in Orange County. A generous family man, John was known for his infectious personality, sense of humor, booming voice, and amazing storytelling skills. He died Feb. 15, 2024.
