Alisal High School class of 1985 valedictorian John Joseph Gutierrez ’90 died October 18, 2020 at the age of 53. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1990, and later that fall married Emma Ochoa. In 1991, he was hired at Santa Rita Union School District, where he rose through the ranks as vice principal, then principal at Gavilan View and Bolsa Knolls Middle Schools. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and two granddaughters.
