It was 1982 when Rev. John Endres, S.J. started teaching at the Jesuit School of Theology. By the time he retired as  Professor Emeritus of Sacred Scripture (Old Testament), he had published books on the Psalms, the history of the Old Testament, and traditions shared by ancient Jewish and Christian literature. Endres died Jan. 26, 2022, at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos.
