Joe Ritzo ’06 is in his 11th season as the "Voice of the San Jose Giants." Ritzo began with the San Jose Giants (Minor League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants) while a freshman at Santa Clara in 2003 broadcasting select home games on the radio before moving into a full-time role prior to the 2007 season. He has also served as the club’s Director of Broadcasting since 2010. Ritzo has additional broadcast experience calling games for Stanford University baseball, Santa Clara University soccer and women’s volleyball as well as local college and high school basketball. The Palo Alto, CA native also handles the play-by-play of the 30 San Jose Giants television broadcasts on Comcast Hometown Network and co-hosts the "Inside the San Jose Giants" podcast. He enters the 2017 season having called over 1,500 San Jose Giants games.
