JoAnne Linda Holliday was born on March 26, 1949, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Mildred Josephine Paul and Ivar McDonald Holliday. She graduated from UCSB in 2000 with a Ph.D. in computer science, serving as a professor in SCU’s computer science and engineering department from 2000 until 2019. She helped to produce many fine scholars. Joanne was also the loving wife of Kevin F. Coffman, whom she married on Dec. 11, 1993, in Camarillo, California, with the wedding officiated by pastor John Soyster. Their commitment to each other lasted for 30 years. On Feb. 13, 2019, JoAnne passed away in Sunnyvale. She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Holliday, and is survived by her brother, David Holliday.
