Joan Kelly ’67 valedictorian graduate of Tracy High School, received her bachelor’s from SCU in 1967, graduating summa cum laude. While teaching French in public schools, she earned a Master’s from Stanford. Before earning her Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 1974, Joan taught at that university’s lab school and Escuela Lincoln in Costa Rica. She also served as the academic director at the Costa Rica Academy. A devout Catholic, she always looked to the good of others and attended weekly Mass. Joan died Aug. 31, 2022.
