Though Gerald Orr ’57 earned a rare chemistry degree, he found his true calling in the skies. In the Army, the Transportation Corps taught Jerry how to pilot fixed wing aircrafts, which he did for the rest of this life. He became a flight instructor, served three tours flying helicopters in Vietnam, and enjoyed taking off to any desired location in his private plane. Jerry died in January 2024.
