Jerome Fahey ’49 was a humble man who was known for his soft voice and warm smile that reached his eyes. His 30-year career at VONS saw him rise from produce clerk to president and CEO, where his infectious joy and genuine interest in others created a nurturing environment. Jerry died on Sept. 2, 2024, and is survived by son Thomas Fahey ’78, daughter-in-law Suzanne Fahey ’84, brother-in-law Anton Kerckhoff ’51, son Christopher Fahey ’75. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Fahey ’82, and daughter, Theresa Mancillas ’74.
