Jason Nishikawa ’93 found his calling as a licensed real estate agent. He served as a director of the Honolulu Board of Realtors as well as chair and vice chair of the board’s Metro Regional Group. He was dedicated what he called the “middle of the ladder” homebuyers, finding 1,045 new residences for hard-working families. Along with his friends and business partners, Derek Lock and Keslie Hui, Jason formed HNL Development which helped push for affordable housing legislation in Oahu. Jason’s legacy through HNL Development will develop over 200 affordable rental housing units on Oahu. Outside of work Jason was able to instantly light up any room, he brought friends together by creating Udaman Golf Club, was a third generation season ticket holder and avid University of Hawaii Football fan, and he loved going to Vegas and playing poker. Jason died June 7, 2023.
