James Taylor MA ’66 died at the age of 85 in February 2023. He was a loving husband to Patricia Taylor ’73 for more than 61 years, a proud father of four children, and a high school and community college English teacher for 35 years,  earning teacher of the year recognition twice. Taylor was a gifted athlete and earned a basketball scholarship to Santa Clara, where he made lifelong friends. Taylor could often be found placing bets on the horses at the fairgrounds or taking annual trips to Reno for March Madness.
