1968

James Prior ’68 was an excellent teacher. Jim taught math for 35 years and was named district teacher of the year twice and made it into several editions of “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.” He made learning exciting with lessons like “Super Transitive Day” in his geometry classes. Jim was also a patron of the dramatic arts, especially musicals, and actively supported the drama department at Pinole Valley High School. He was an avid reader and a postage stamp collector, and he enjoyed playing serious bridge and ping pong. In his retirement, Jim helped build sets for Dreamweavers Theatre, repaired computers for Computers-To-Schools, and volunteered with Friends of the Library. Jim died on November 22, 2022.
