James Pfaff ’58 was always true to his Catholic faith—attending St. Leo’s, Bellarmine, and SCU. Jim met his future wife Annie at a Bellarmine-Notre Dame mixer, fell in love, and continued to love and honor her after 65 years of marriage. Jim was an active member of San Jose Country Club, where he and Annie enjoyed golfing, friendships, and dancing. Jim alwys lit up a room with his infectious smile, his big blue eyes, and  sense of humor. A friend and mentor to many, Jim died May 28, 2022 and is survived by his family including nephews Mike Blach ’85, Brian Blach ’92, family member Richard Blach ’58, grandnephew Michael Blach ’19, family member Charles Brenneman ’00, and cousins Mary Bach ’86 and Donald Blach ’85.
