James Fitzgerald M.A. ’69 understood the key to lasting friendship, staying in touch with former students, athletes, and friends for decades, always offering support and kindness. After serving in the Army for six years, Jim began his teaching career and dedicated himself to education as a teacher, coach, counselor, and administrator. In 1967, he married Patricia Fitzgerald M.A. ’76, and together they raised two sons. After retiring, Jim became a member of San Jose Country Club, volunteered through the Ascent Employment Program at Queen of Apostles to help inmates find employment, and lectured at his parish. Jim died on Jan. 18, 2025.
