Entrepreneur and business professor James Andre ’69 accomplished a lot in his life. He opened his own retail sportswear store called Sports Locker and taught at various universities and colleges across California. Jim was also proud to teach on a Semester at Sea higher education study abroad program, circumnavigating the globe on four semester-long voyages. He was most proud of his leadership in establishing the LGBTQ+ endowed scholarship fund at Santa Clara University and his work with the sober community for over 41 years. Outside of work, Jim loved to travel with his life partner, Paul, and the two enjoyed many trips to Avalon, Catalina Island. Especially meaningful was a 2022 trip to the battlefields of Normandy, France where Jim’s father, Peter Andre, landed at Utah Beach on D-Day. Jim died Feb. 4, 2024.
