This past summer, Jacqueline Selfridge-Hombaker M.A. ’18 was promoted within her district to become the secondary special education program specialist for Palo Alto Unified School District. This was the start of her fifth year working at Palo Alto USD. In this position, she is supporting the special education programs at all five of the secondary sites, including providing training and expertise in co-teaching. She recently organized and presented a daylong professional development day for the secondary aides that included a learning disability/dyslexia simulation where attendees were able to glimpse the challenges that students with disabilities face, as well as debrief strategies that the aides can use to best support their students in the classroom. She married her wonderful husband, Steve Hombaker, on July 27, 2019.
