Hon. Gabriel A. Gutiérrez ’60 J.D. ’64 died surrounded by family at the age of 83. He is survived by wife Ana María and four sons, including Gabriel Fernando Gutiérrez ’96 and seven grandsons, including Alejandro Gutiérrez ’21. He is preceded in death by his first wife Gayle Eileen ’60 and son Jaime.

Gabriel joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 1965 and moved to Washington D.C. in 1968 to serve as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. Then, Gabriel served as a judge in Los Angeles for decades, earning many awards like CAALA Alfred J. McCourtney Memorial Trial Judge of the Year.
